Recap of our 2026 trip to Keystone

a trip for the record books

It's no secret, 2026  was the worse snowfall ever in the western mountains.  We were in Keystone from March 22nd to March 26th, 2026.  We stayed at the River Run condos which is a complex of eight buildings. Instead of putting our club in one building, Keystone lodging made the mistake of putting our club members in different buildings. This made check in very difficult and it made it difficult for us to get together after skiing. Bad decision on their end.

No fault of Keystone, only about half the trails were open due to lack of snow. And what snow they had left was corn snow. In the morning it was crusty. In the afternoon, it was thick heavy snow. Many trails had bare spots you had to avoid. To say the least, it was a challenging trip and we'll probably never return to Keystone again.
