Welcome to the Powder Dogs!
The Powder Dogs are a fun-loving club for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities—from first-timers who are still figuring out which end of the ski goes downhill to seasoned racers who think “après-ski” is a competitive event. We get together to ski, snowboard, travel, socialize, and generally have a great time—on the slopes and off. Our adventures continue all year long, because apparently we don’t know when to stop having fun.
The Powder Dogs Ski and Snowboard Club is a non profit organization that provides trips and year round social activities for their members. The club was started in 2005 by members Rick and Laurie, owners of the now closed Alpine Accessories. Members in the early years were Alpine Accessories customers who wanted a club closer to them in the NW suburbs of Chicago. The Powder Dogs are still the only ski and snowboard club in McHenry county. The membership has grown to over 100 members that have met and have become life long friends and spouses. When you join the Powder Dogs, you'll make new friends that share your passion for the slopes and you'll have some one of your ability level to ski with.
As a Powder Dog member, you'll enjoy many club benefits like club and group discounts on trips to some of your favorite destinations, social events and gatherings, a chance to meet fun loving humans, and year round activities even when there is no snow. Attending a Powder Dogs meeting allows you to get to know us and acquire info about our trips and activities. If you have a question and can't attend a meeting, browse this website, or send us an email at info@powderdogs.org.
